Whoever Will Come After Me -- Mark 8

It absolutely makes me crazy to hear someone use needing to "find themselves" as an excuse for anything. Jesus tells the disciples in Mark chapter eight, 'Whoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me."
There are a lot of people who choose to follow Christ in their head but there is a hesitation to make that so called commitment. They don't wish to deny themselves of anything. They choose not to really give over their heart to Christ. They might have the intent of service, but it may not be manifested in their lives.
Jesus continues on by saying, "for whoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it" (KJV). Get it? If you and I want to truly follow Christ; if we feel the need to "find ourselves," we must do the opposite of what the world thinks. We have to relinquish control over our own lives; we belong to a new master. What will you do about it?
